To obtain the lowest overall price for an international mailing you need to use multiple postal providers and with BTB Mailflight you get the best of both world's. We are part of the La Poste Group, Europe's second largest postal operator, so we have low cost access to their routes, but we are not tied into using La Poste so we also broker postage independently, and we run the UK's leading direct entry international postal solution from our Heathrow operation.

Option 2) To produce your mail in-house/elsewhere, but still achieve postage discounts?

If you are producing the mail yourself you may still be able to benefit from our postal solution. You need to produce it using our licensed postage paid indicias (PPI) and follow our production and sortation instructions, and we can then arrange delivery into us for final consolidation.

We operate more direct entry mailing routes than anyone else with direct entry services to over 70 countries. This is ideal for direct mail and business mail.

What is a direct entry postal service?
Direct Entry is simply a style of international mailing where each mail piece is customised to the local market it is being sent to. Whereas your marketing agency will customise the creative to ensure the language and imagery fits with local culture, Direct Entry does the same with the format of the mail piece.


What does our direct entry service provide?

• Local PPI (Postage Printed Impression) for the individual country.

• Mail piece design to fit within local mailing regulations.

• Local return address for responses.

• 'Best rate' postage charges based on negotiated rates with overseas post offices and private agents.

So for example if you are designing a mailing for the German market you will get a better response rate if you produce the mail piece in German, and include a German PPI and a German return address on the envelope, and that's what we can do for you.

Although direct entry might seem like quite a simple process, BTB Mailflight have in fact spent over 25 years developing a network of services worldwide. It involves dealing with local languages, currencies, cultures and time differences, and maintaining and developing the network is a full time job.


Why use direct entry postal services?
BTB Mailflight's local look direct entry international mail service is very popular with international direct marketers. We can help you increase your overseas direct mail response rates by designing and franking your mail pieces as is customary in the destination country and can even include a sender's address that is inside that country (with returns being redirected back to you).

This gives those receiving the direct mail piece more confidence in the credibility of your mailing. For example do you ever receive mailings with a foreign PPI and return address? What do you do with it? I bet you usually assume it's a scam or 'junk mail'!

As well as improved response rates you also benefit from optimised transit times and costs through direct entry of your shipments to mail distribution centres in the destination country overseas.

There are strict envelope design criteria that must be followed (as shown in the below example) when using direct entry mail services, and we have the expertise to handle this, or to pass on this information to your mailing house if we are simply posting it and not producing the mailing.

MBags - For low cost, reliable delivery of heavier weight mail
If you have a need to send over two kilos of mail to one destination or you have a lot of mail going to one client on a regular basis then our M-Bag service is a very cost effective option.

M-Bags are a way of shipping all mail for one location in a sealed and secure specific bag, therefore all mail is delivered at the same time and in good condition.

Normal international mail is designed for up to two kilos per piece, with M-Bags you can place as much mail as you can for one address into our specifically designed bags with a weight limit of 25 kilos. M-Bags are individually priced and are much more cost effective, as there are lower sortation and delivery costs.

We provide a mix of standard, trackable and signed-for courier options available from UK and international courier and freight operators. This includes 24 hour, 48 hour, and timed deliveries for the UK, and priority and economy courier services internationally.

We handle thousands of despatches on behalf of many clients so are therefore able to get trade rates which are much cheaper than their standard tariffs.

We also have a subsidiary company, Mailflight Courier Services, they are based near Heathrow and specialise in international courier services for businesses, they make collections from the London area and deliver worldwide. Their services include:

Why do we produce so much of the international mail we are posting?
Getting international mail production wrong can cost you £1000’s. This is because postal operators require the mail to be sorted and presented to strict procedures to get their best prices, and if this is done incorrectly they will either not accept the mail or charge more for handling it.
