BTB MAILFLIGHT HAVE TODAY ANNOUNCED THAT LA POSTE GROUP HAVE PURCHASED A MAJOR INTEREST IN THE COMPANY.
Ian Kavanagh Managing Director of BTB Mailflight said “We see this as a very positive step for our staff, clients and shareholders. We have found there to be great synergy between both businesses".
Ian Kavanagh and Lindsay Deardon (Sales and Marketing Director) are son and daughter of BTB Mailflight’s founding family, and they remain with shares in the business. Ian continued. “ La Poste are investing in BTB Mailflight’s expertise and our extensive range of services and have no plans to be involved in the day to day running of the business, it will be business as usual with the Board of Directors remaining, and the Senior Management Team unchanged.
The only tangible change employees and clients will probably notice is that we will be expanding our service range and improving our buying power. Although we are very excited about the future, at heart we are still a progressive family run business and will maintain the strong values that have lead to our success to date, and we feel that La Poste really do appreciate this.
This development is perfect timing for BTB Mailflight, as we have just had a very successful year and have significant growth plans which the backing of an organisation of this size will help us achieve even quicker”.
BTB Mailflight is well known for supplying one of the widest range of international mailing services available from the UK and Ian Kavanagh wants to assure clients this will not change. “We will continue to work with postal operators across the world, this development simply means that we will have preferential access to La Poste’s services, and to destinations where these services become the most efficient service we will of course use them, but we are not obliged to”.
This acquisition is a significant development in La Poste’s strategy to develop their services outside of France, their aim is to maintain their position as one of world’s leading postal operators and the UK is seen as a significant growth opportunity for them.

BTB MAILFLIGHT TAKE ON NEW 63,000 SQ FT RESPONSE FULFILMENT CENTRE
BTB Mailflight Ltd have announced the lease of a 63,000 square foot warehouse just ten minutes from it’s head office in Bedford. The facility will accommodate an expanding response handling and order fulfilment operation.
“Many of our clients are growing and we are delighted to play a part in their success, this along with winning new contracts means that we have outgrown our existing site. The new warehouse is three times the size of our current facility which gives us significant capacity to expand in line with our ambitious growth plans”, said Ian Kavanagh, BTB Mailflight’s Managing Director.
The new warehouse, is part of the old Debenhams logistics centre, recently renamed Thor! Renovations were completed last autumn, and BTB Mailflight is scheduled to move its response fulfilment operations there from April. BTB Mailflight handle response fulfilment for the likes of Diabetes UK, Boden, Butlins and Christian Aid.
Ian Kavanagh continued, “We have commissioned Supply Chain Planning UK Limited, an independent logistics consultancy to assist us in the move, they are experts in warehouse and fulfilment operations with an impressive client portfolio that includes BBC Worldwide, Porsche and Hasbro. We are confident that by working in partnership with them we will be setting up a cutting edge pick and pack operation”.

BTB MAILFLIGHT INVEST IN 2 XEROX NUVERA™ 100 DIGITAL PRODUCTION SYSTEMS.

Production Manager Laurence Smith said "This investment demonstrates our commitment to continually developing our services.
