As you will be aware, Royal Mail is no longer the only option for delivering mail across the UK. BTB Mailflight offer our own Downstream Access solution for mail deliveries which can provide substantial savings over some Royal Mail prices, and we can be up to 10 per cent cheaper than Royal Mail Second Class service, so it is certainly in your interests to find out more about our direct mail delivery service.
We do of course also handle the full range of Royal Mail services for mail, packet and parcel distribution, and because we mail such high volumes through these postal services we achieve postage discounts too.
What is polywrapping?
You've probably seen it when you have had items delivered to your home or office, but you may not know much about polywrapping and the technology behind it. Essentially, polywrapping is an automated process of wrapping an item in a clear or printed polythene film. The polythene wrap is fed from reels under and around a product, covering it completely. The two edges are then brought together and heat sealed together before being crop sealed at the top and bottom to create a secure and strong package.
Amongst the many items that suite polywrapping, you will find direct mail, brochures, catalogues, guides, magazines and other periodicals.
The size of items which can be polywrapped will vary from machine to machine but as a general rule items as small as an A6 card or up to 60 mm A3 items are also within tolerances of polywrapping lines. A number of items of similar of smaller size to the original can be machine fed onto the polywrapping line.
